Galleria Marchetti Wedding / Brenda & Alexandru

Galleria Marchetti Wedding / Brenda & Alexandru

Brenda and Alexandru’s spring Galleria Marchetti wedding brought together everything we love about photographing celebrations in Chicago: an emotional first look by the lake, portraits against the city skyline, a romantic outdoor ceremony, and a lively tented reception.

Their wedding photography began with getting-ready moments and continued through some of our favorite Chicago wedding photography locations, including Milton Lee Olive Park, the Wrigley Building, and LaSalle Street Bridge. We documented the day with a natural, photojournalistic approach while also creating refined portraits that reflected the couple and the city they love.

A ROMANTIC SPRING WEDDING AT GALLERIA MARCHETTI

Galleria Marchetti is an Italian-inspired wedding venue located at 825 W. Erie Street in Chicago. The property combines landscaped gardens and courtyards with elegant covered event spaces, creating the feeling of a private garden celebration without leaving the city.

Spring weather in Chicago can be unpredictable, which makes a venue with both outdoor and covered spaces especially valuable. Brenda and Alexandru had a beautiful sunny day that allowed them to enjoy an outdoor ceremony surrounded by greenery before moving into the tented reception space for dinner and dancing.

The combination of natural light, gardens, architectural details, and an elegant reception setting gives a Galleria Marchetti wedding several distinct visual looks within one venue.

GETTING READY FOR THE WEDDING DAY

The day began with the quiet anticipation of getting ready. We photographed Brenda’s hair and makeup, her wedding dress, bouquet, bridesmaids, and the candid interactions that happened before she stepped into her gown.

At the same time, Alexandru prepared with his family and groomsmen. From adjusting his suit and boutonniere to reading a private note before the ceremony, these smaller moments helped tell the complete story of the day.

Getting-ready photography is about more than photographing the dress and accessories. It preserves the expressions, conversations, nerves, laughter, and family connections that couples often do not get to see while they are happening.

AN EMOTIONAL FIRST LOOK AT MILTON LEE OLIVE PARK

Brenda and Alexandru chose Milton Lee Olive Park for their first look. The location had a special meaning for them because it was also where Alexandru proposed.

With views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline, Olive Park provided a quiet and personal setting for them to see each other before the ceremony. Alexandru waited along the tree-lined path while Brenda approached him from behind, creating a genuine and emotional first-look moment.

After giving the couple time to enjoy the moment privately, we created portraits along the waterfront and photographed the wedding party with the Chicago skyline in the background.

CHICAGO WEDDING PORTRAITS AT THE WRIGLEY BUILDING AND LASALLE STREET BRIDGE

Following the first look, we continued Brenda and Alexandru’s wedding portraits at two iconic Chicago photography locations.

The Wrigley Building provided timeless architecture, elegant stonework, and a classic downtown atmosphere. From there, we moved to LaSalle Street Bridge for more dramatic photographs surrounded by Chicago’s architecture and city streets.

Combining Olive Park, the Wrigley Building, and LaSalle Street Bridge gave the couple three different looks: lakefront and skyline views, historic architecture, and editorial city portraits.

When including several Chicago portrait locations in a wedding timeline, it is important to plan the route carefully and allow extra time for traffic, parking, and loading. A well-organized timeline lets the couple enjoy the experience without feeling rushed before the ceremony.

OUTDOOR WEDDING CEREMONY AT GALLERIA MARCHETTI

Brenda and Alexandru held their ceremony outdoors in the garden at Galleria Marchetti. Guests surrounded the tree-lined aisle as Brenda walked toward Alexandru, creating an intimate atmosphere in the middle of Chicago.

During the ceremony, we focused on the complete story: the processional, family reactions, vows, ring exchange, first kiss, and the couple’s joyful walk back up the aisle.

The gardens and greenery provide soft, natural backgrounds for ceremony photographs while still allowing photographers to capture wide images that show the venue, guests, and overall setting.

WHY GALLERIA MARCHETTI PHOTOGRAPHS BEAUTIFULLY

From a wedding photography perspective, Galleria Marchetti offers valuable variety without requiring guests to travel between the ceremony and reception.

The gardens and courtyards create romantic outdoor backgrounds for ceremonies, family photographs, and couple portraits. The covered reception spaces allow the celebration to continue comfortably after sunset or during unpredictable Chicago weather.

Its central location also makes it possible to include popular Chicago portrait locations such as Milton Lee Olive Park, the Wrigley Building, LaSalle Street Bridge, the Chicago Riverwalk, and nearby downtown architecture.

The most effective Galleria Marchetti wedding timelines combine a first look and city portraits before the ceremony with a shorter portrait session around the venue later in the day.

PLANNING WEDDING PHOTOS AT GALLERIA MARCHETTI

Couples who want photographs at several Chicago locations should schedule their first look well before the ceremony and limit the number of stops so the wedding day does not feel rushed.

We also recommend returning to Galleria Marchetti before guests begin taking their seats. This gives the photography team time to capture the ceremony setup, flowers, reception details, and wide photographs of the venue before the spaces are filled.

The gardens can be used for family photographs, wedding-party portraits, and a short golden-hour session. Couples planning a sparkler exit should confirm the venue’s current rules and coordinate the timing with their planner, photographer, and entertainment team.
