We absolutely loved being part of this emotional September wedding at the Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in Lemont, IL. Alyssa and Ron were unsure if they were going to go through with it because of the COVID pandemic. They were really lucky because Cog Hill offered an outdoor reception option, and the weather was beautiful. Alyssa and her bridesmaids were so much fun to be around, with plenty of laughter and even a few tears.
We photographed the first look between Alyssa and her father and grandfather. After that, we hopped on the bus for a ride to the venue. Alyssa and Ron’s first look was a heartfelt and memorable moment.
Ceremony and Reception at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club
An outdoor ceremony at any golf club is always something special. We love outdoor ceremonies because they give us more space to move around, allowing us to capture stunning photos. During the summer months, it’s important to ensure that the outdoor wedding area is in the shade. The heat can be quite uncomfortable, especially when weddings take place during the hottest part of the day. This wedding, which took place in September, was different, as September is a cooler month. The ceremony was very emotional, filled with tears—a beautiful moment for us to capture.
One thing worth mentioning is that golf club venues are a fantastic option for weddings. With plenty of scenic greenery, towering trees, and colorful blooms, they provide an ideal backdrop for photos. This also saves time that would otherwise be spent traveling to different locations for portraits.
After the ceremony and brief family photos, guests headed to the cocktail hour. We used that time for some couple’s portraits and wedding party photos.
Reception was truly unique. Everything was moved outside to provide extra space and comply with restriction rules. It was covered and central tables for the bride and groom and wedding party were organized like stairs with a huge MR & MRS lighted sign below the tables. Later, as night fell, we took some beautiful night shots of the couple by the lake, which was right next to the tent where the wedding was held. We used additional lighting to give ourselves more options and capture these moments perfectly
.Cog Hill Golf & Country Club has both a tent and an indoor hall. The tent is a great option for a summer wedding. The space is truly unique and excellent for weddings. For those who want everything in one place, it comes highly recommended.
Photos turned out amazing. “Milan received several WPJ awards for capturing candid, emotional moments. Enjoy!
